Quicktime Photo Portfolios
I wanted to post this short slideshow portfolio that I did a year ago. These little portfolios are a nice way to display your work to others in a format and order that you chose. This portfolio of mine features pictures that I took while living in China and is set to music by "Twelve Girls Band". The pictures are meant to give a little taste of Chinese culture and everyday life. I gave it a cheeky little title which nobody besides me liked. That's okay though. The pictures are what are important anyway. Hope you enjoy it!
Making these are extremely easy. First you simply need a group of images that you like on a computer. These should have a high enough resolution to be displayed full screen on a monitor without much pixelation. 180 pixels per inch should be good enough. Then import the jpg files to iPhoto. I think it's best to use the jpg format because the file size is small enough that when you import it into iPhoto it wont take very long to upload. If you try to import Photoshop Document files (PSD) it will take forever to upload. Once they are uploaded put them in a desired order and click the slideshow icon. This will give you a few options, for example: how long each image appears on screen and what, if any, background music you would like. After you view your slideshow and are happy with it, go to File>Export to Quicktime. Again you'll have a few options to choose from concerning the slideshow. It will quickly export the show and a .mov file will appear on your desktop. Surprisingly these files aren't very large which is good because they wont use up a lot of disk space or take long to open. I hope that you get a chance to try this out. If you do, I would like to see them!
